Google updated two Search Central documents last week.

The changes included AI fact-checking, authorship, and how the quality of the main content is assessed. It specifically focused on 4 key areas: effort, originality, talent or skill, and accuracy.

Lily Ray made a post predicting that this could be another major Google update, pointing to the documentation changes, the increase in spam updates this year, and the amount of scaled AI content being impacted. Google hasn’t announced anything, so it is still a prediction.

Although I don’t trust Google’s official documentation, there’s one part I want to focus on: originality.

Especially if AI search visibility is part of your content strategy.
